Lucia Haro and Aimee Rodriguez were observed by detectives with the Ventura County Organized Retail Theft Task Force passing the fictitious bills as they made purchases. Detectives were able to confirm the pair passed a counterfeit $100 dollar bill at seven different stores. The pair would make a purchase of low dollar items, pay with a counterfeit $100 bill then receive legitimate currency as change.
