Narrative:
On 02-06-19, two juveniles were battered by several other juveniles in an area located near Medea Creek Middle School and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a result of being battered, the juveniles suffered minor injuries.
On 02-06-19, at approximately 1611 hours, deputies with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Oak Park, reference two twelve year-old female juveniles being battered. During the investigation, deputies learned the two girls got into an argument with another group of teenagers while “hanging-out” in a secluded wooded area next to their school. After several derogatory and inflammatory words were exchanged between the two groups, the two female victims were battered by several members of the other group. As a result of being battered, the two female victims suffered minor injuries.
Investigators are aware of the rumors this incident may have been hate-related. However, our investigation has found no evidence or information to date that would lead us to believe
the incident was motivated by hate.
This investigation is ongoing. The identity of the suspects in this case is still unknown at this time. Detectives, School Resource Officers, and patrol personnel with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office are continuing their investigation.
