| In September of 2018, Thousand Oaks Police Department patrol deputies responded to a suspected child crimes call in the Newbury Park area within the City of Thousand Oaks. The 16 year old victim stated she was sexually abused between the ages of 5 to 11 years old by the Suspect – Steven Skyler Abbott. Deputies documented the incident as Lewd Act Upon a Child.
Los detectives de la Unidad de Agresión Sexual de Delitos Graves del Departamento de Policía de Thousand Oaks comenzaron inmediatamente una investigación e identificaron a una segunda víctima. La segunda víctima femenina, de 24 años, también denunció haber sido abusada sexualmente por Steven Abbott entre los 3 y los 7 años de edad. After a thorough investigation, Detectives presented to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office for review and filing considerations. On November 16, 2018, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office elected to file the following charges: Two (2) Counts of 288.5(a) PC – Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, One (1) count of 288(a) PC – Lewd Act Upon a Child, and One (1) count of 288(b)(1) PC – Forcible Lewd Act Upon a Child. On November 28, 2018, an arrest warrant for Steven Skyler Abbott was issued by the Ventura
