On 12/12/18, at approximately 4:50 am, patrol units from the Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a subject who had been battered with a baseball bat in the 6000 block of East Smoke Tree Avenue, located in the unincorporated area of Oak Park. The suspect, Amanda Jaramillo, had been staying with the victim at his residence for a period of time. During the course of the night, Jaramillo attacked the victim with a baseball bat, striking him numerous times in the head and body. At the time, the victim was not in a positon to defend himself and suffered several injuries, resulting in him being transported to and treated at a local hospital. During her contact with responding deputies, Jaramillo indicated her intention was to kill the victim. Jaramillo was arrested for 664/187(a) PC (Attempt Homicide) and booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility, with a bail amount $520,000. Her arraignment is scheduled for 12/14/18, at 1:30 pm, in Ventura County Superior Court Room 14. | |||
