Crime & Traffic

The Crime and Traffic dashboard provides information about crimes and traffic accidents reported to the Sheriff’s Office. Data about crimes is consistent with the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting standards. These crimes include Homicide, Robbery, Rape, Aggravated Assault, Residential Burglary, Commercial Burglary, Grand Theft, Petty Theft, Motor Vehicle Theft, and Arson. This interactive dashboard allows users to search specified time periods, crime types, and jurisdictions. It also allows for the comparison of crimes across jurisdictions patrolled by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office is responsible for conducting traffic accident investigations within the incorporated boundaries of our five contract cities. Traffic enforcement and investigation in the unincorporated areas is the responsibility of the California Highway Patrol. This dashboard allows for searches and comparisons of traffic collisions and citations issued within the incorporated contract cities.
