Ventura County Sheriff’s Technical Communications Specialist Tami Dance has been selected as the 2022 Public Safety Dispatcher of the Year. This award is presented to the outstanding dispatcher for their exemplary work and contributions to public safety and the residents of Ventura County. Tami has been a dispatcher with the Sheriff’s Office since August of 2001 and is currently assigned to a specialized unit, Advanced Real Time Information Center (ARTIC). Tami is a dog and horse mom. She enjoys spending time with her pets and training her dog for agility competitions. Sheriff dispatchers answer, assess, and refer 9-1-1 calls, and business calls that come into the Sheriff’s Office. They are responsible for dispatching and coordinating patrol response to calls for service and at times, responsible for up to 70 patrol deputies in the field. Dispatchers are among the first responders to emergency incidents and are expected to remain calm, professional, and proficient at all times. Tami’s colleagues can attest that she promotes all of the above attributes while working her shift. She is a very reliable employee who is always willing to go above and beyond. Congratulations to Tami Dance for being selected as the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office’s 2022 Dispatcher of the Year. |
