The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is committed to our ongoing partnership with residents and business owners in preventing and solving crime. As technology has improved, video surveillance has become one of the best methods for identifying, apprehending and convicting criminals. Utilizing the surveillance systems that many residents and business owners currently operate at their homes and/or businesses is a great example of how the community and law enforcement can further partner in an effort to keep our neighborhoods safer. As crimes occur nearby, residents and business owners may not always be aware that their surveillance system may have captured information that could help solve the crime.
